Dear friends and family,
My name is Shani Chernoff and I have been involved with Rhythmic Gymnastics since the age of 9. In the past years, I have mastered the Rhythmic Gymnastics sport through very hard work and dedication. I believed that if I kept working hard I could achieve my goal.
My favorite quote is: “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” ~ Walt Disney
I have earned a great number of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in multiple competitions, including 1st place in regionals. my life-long dream has been to represent USA in an International Competition. I am pleased to let you know that I have been selected to compete as a member of Team USA in the third largest international sporting event in the world – the Maccabiah Games in Israel, July 2013.
The Maccabiah games also call the Jewish Olympics were originally conceived by Yosef Yekutieli, a 15-year-old boy when he listened to the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games. The Jewish athletes were not permitted to participate in the world Olympic Games and that’s what inspired him to create the Jewish Olympics. In 1932, the first Maccabiah games were held in Israel with about 400 participating athletes. Now it is a tradition to hold the Maccabiah Games every four years, one year after the World Olympic Games. The 19th Maccabiah games takes place July 2013 in Israel with over 60 countries and thousands of athletes.
I truly appreciate everyone’s attention and support in helping me reach my goal and a life long dream! You can click the link below my picture to access my personal fundraising page.
Please pass this letter to your friends.
Sincerely,
Shani Chernoff
